A Crazy Weekend!

My best friend ever, Morgan Powell, came down from Washington on Thursday afternoon. I was so freaking happy. She stayed at my house until early Sunday morning. We had the best weekend ever! On Thursday night, we went and saw the Washington Huskies kill the Oregon Ducks. It was awesome! Minus having to hobble around Eugene on crutches and being carried by Morgan and our friend Barrett, it was an awesome evening. I am always very happy when Mogie comes back to visit me. She now lives far far away in Washington, and I only see her like once ever 3 months. Sad.

Every time she comes we have some kind of weird experience. Last time, it was being kicked out of Fred Meyer in Corvallis, and then getting really lost. This time, we were at Subway. First, I couldn't decide if I wanted olives on my sandwich because Subway olives always taste weird. The lady who was making my sandwich acted all annoyed and she was mad when I asked if I could try one. She let me, and then I decided not to get them and she was all pissed saying "They are just Safeway olives, holy crap..."Then, Morgan asked the guy behind the counter for red powerade and apple juice and he replied "Those are some good chasers." Morgan was embarrassed, and was like "Uh, no, I'm only 17." Then the guy said "Well, nothing like start'n early." Wow. That was kind of odd.

The weirdest thing happened on Friday night too. Okay, so after school, Morgan, Emmi, Katie, Carmen and I were just chilling trying to decide what we wanted to do. We spent the majority of the evening just wasting time at Safeway and Wal-Mart. I got to ride around in those electric wheelchair things because of my broken ankle, which was totally AWESOME! Anyway, we got a call from my friend Michael Mackie, who Emmi and I both grew up with. Morgan knows him from all the times that he came over while she was still living in Lacomb. So anyway, he and some friends were tailgating and having a great time. He invited us to stop by so that he could see Morgan before he left. So we stopped by briefly and it was awkward and weird so we ditched. They had a fire there, and as we were leaving Morgan and I decided that someone was going to get hurt, knowing Michael and all of his crazy ideas. The next morning we get a call that Michael had been in some kind of freak accident, and was now in Portland at the hospital suffering very severe burns. We later found out that Michael had poured gasoline on the fire and apparently had some on his jeans or something as well. His legs caught on fire. He remembered from Elementary School, to STOP, DROP AND ROLL, but in a liquid fire that didn't help him. His legs were on fire, so he began to try to pat them out with his hands, causing his hands to catch on fire as well. I found out that he has suffered some second and third degree burning on his legs, hands and arms. It's so weird that Michael, who had done crazy stuff like that since long before I can remember is suffering the consequences of something that he's always done and never thought twice about. Life is so crazy.

Today has been fairly uneventful though. I slept in until like 1:30 PM, which is absolutely strange for me. I never sleep that long. Then I showered and stuff and then read until I ended up falling asleep for yet another two hours. The past few hours have been me reading and watching movies and such. I wish I could have every Monday off. That would be nice. I suppose I would want more though, I would then wish for Tuesdays off. So for now I will just be happy with the day I got. Thank you Martin Luther King Jr.
